Resumo: The present thesis aims at contributing to the understanding of the philosophical Hermeneutics discussions, overall on Hans-Georg Gadamer's thought. The study starts with the modern tradition view of the construction of knowledge, more specifically with the Theory of Knowledge, opening later the discussion about the truth in another perspective, as an occurrence in which we have already been immerged in and through the tradition. Through the comprehension of the historicity, we are led to perceive internal limits to the modern pretension in the knowledge construction. Thus, this favors a critic to this perspective, once it is not able to respond to its presumptions, opening other possibilities to the discussion about knowledge, specially related to arts, history, language, central themes in Truth and Method. So, the study leads to the comprehension of the historicity as appropriation of the tradition, demonstrating, since the origin of the concept comprehension, that Heidegger and Gadamer can be considered the legal inheritors of the tradition that comes from Schleiermacher, Dilthey and Droysen. Thus, the appropriation of the tradition allows us to perceive that we are before the uncovering of the tradition as happening, that lies beyond the enunciation.
