Resumo: The current research analyzed the pedagogical proposal of a leveling distance course and verified, in relation to students and teacher, the positive and negative aspects of the course. The study took place in a leveling course of Chemistry in an Institution of superior education of Porto Alegre. Such course is offered gratuitously through the modality of distance education, for students registered in graduation courses of that very institution. The following question was intended to be answered: What pedagogical characteristics of the leveling courses proposal, in virtual environments, favor learning? The collection of data was accomplished by using three instruments: a) observations in the virtual environment of learning, b) questionnaires with the students, and c) interview with the teacher of the course. After the analysis of the obtained information, some strategies had been suggested by the researcher, through objects of learning, as a possibility to instigate the interaction and the motivation of the students in learning environments. The research had quanti-qualitative aspects, and the set ofdata had been analyzed through content analysis.
