The overall objective of this research was to investigate the processes of production of short films made in Rio Grande do Sul, during the Revelando os Brasis IV, in their multiple contexts, and short films made under such conditions. To cope with the specifics of the problem / object investigated, I worked the concepts of communication context, audiovisual context, edges movies, amateur cinema, audiovisual training workshops. Also, I articulated theoretical perspectives for the understanding of films, developing questions about constructions of identitary proposals and gaucho cinema. About the methodological strategies, I conducted exploratory research observing the training workshops and systematic research observing the shootings of short films made in Rio Grande do Sul and itinerant exhibitions. From a multimethodological perspective, I articulated a set of procedures that included questionnaires, structured interviews with flexible application, participant observation with communicational focus. Films were analyzed based on their themes and relationships with production processes, subjects and spaces. As results, I highlight how the phenomenon of audiovisual training workshops articulates with Revelando os Brasis, as well as regional and local contexts, production conditions and the trajectories of the subjects operate as configurators of the films made. I also analyze how to establish relationships between the themes, taken here as action proposals of the project and filmmakers, and the movies.
