Resumo: Study of the hybridization in the discourse of the Brazilian novel represented in Memórias de um sargento de milícias (1854-55), by Manuel Antônio de Almeida; Os sertões (1902), by Euclides da Cunha; Memórias sentimentais de João Miramar (1924), by Oswald de Andrade, and Boca do inferno (1989), by Ana Miranda, as a source to a literary history of Brazilian literature as a history of ideas, through the concepts of “discursive hybridization”, “comunicative situation”, “structure”, “temporal presence”, and “spatial presence”. The study and the propose contained in which is being done in compliance with the estimates established by the field of Literary Theory and Linguistics Theory initially presented in the work of Mikhail Bakhtin, Hans U. Gumbrecht, Friederike Meyer, Jacques Le Goff, Philippe Ariès, and Émile Benveniste among others. It aims to propose that the enunciability of the narrative text can be a resource of a History of Mentalities or Ideias once it can provide a lot of information of Brazilian society and its mentalities, like habits, behaviors, way of life, and so on, in a no determined way, but in terms of variety and difference. Brazilian novel is a hybridized textual structure which provides elements that can be read historically as “monuments”, “representation”, “sign”, and “symptom” of historical moments. It would help us to see the literary history from a non-linear and sincronic viewpoint during its transformations.
