Resumo: This dissertation aims to present the importance of fairy tales as facilitators of the teaching-learning process, seeking the inter-relationship between the subjects involved and the rewiring of rational and logical deductive thought, with the magical-mythical-imaginary. In this literature review, we studied those fairy tales, which, enable contact with the subjective contents of the human being, in a complex approach. The theoretical framework consists of complex thinking, especially the notion of subject by Edgar Morin; the symbolic thinking in Carl Gustav Jung, in particular, the concept of individuation and, the study of fairy tales by Nelly Novaes Coelho, considering its origin and importance to the teaching-learning process. Since fairy tales allow the contact with the subjectivity of human being, in the symbolization of unconscious processes, ultimately they reflect the basic structure of the psyche. Fairy tales provide self comprehension and of others; tolerance, respect for differences, the ability to deal with uncertainties, from a mythical and real universe, in order to rebuild or transformation of complex reality.
