The integration of project management with sustainability is a challenging task due to its complexity. In this context, the successful incorporation of sustainability principles into project management processes requires dedicated and continuous efforts. With a focus on circular economy projects as one of the elements of sustainability and a potential strategy to address resource scarcity challenges, the overall objective of this study is to analyze how project management impacts the implementation of circular economy projects in terms of challenges and benefits. The research was conducted through a systematic literature review and a case study in a company. The results highlighted the importance of synergy between circular economy and project management. The theoretical contributions emphasize the need to comprehensively and diversely approach the subject, while practical implications depend on a strategic approach involving all stakeholders, investments in capacity building, and careful management of technological and market challenges. In conclusion, circular economy and project management are essential for a more sustainable economy. |
