Resumo: The question about project globalization has been widely discussed, however a new variable became part of the discussion, the cultural subject, which has been even more important in the project performance. The study tried to understand how is the relationship of integration and cultural mechanisms with the financial and time projects performance within a Danish multinational engineering company. There were studied the offices of two countries, Brazil and Russia, in order to understand how the mechanisms of integration, divided into three areas, contractual, organizational and technological, and cultural mechanisms, using the five indexes or dimensions of Hofstede (1991), power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance and long term orientation, can positively influence the financial and time projects performance. For that, it has been carried an analysis, both qualitatively and quantitatively, with people from both countries. The results indicate that these mechanisms are related to the project performance and can positively influence their outcomes, and also this relationship has different intensities depending on the context. In Brazil, the mechanisms for technology integration and power distance were the most influential mechanisms in the results of the projects; as to Russia the mechanisms of technological integration and masculinity were more evident. The study afforded validates the initial model, confirming the initial propositions. With the confirmation of the propositions is possible to suggest that the mechanisms of integration and cultural have positive influence in the financial and time projects performance. It is possible identify as contributions of this work, another way of understanding the mechanisms and cultural integration and also new theoretical discussions involving such mechanisms.
