Resumo: An unstable world economy and growing market increasingly competitive form a scenario that requires companies to develop innovative mechanisms and management actions that allow the company to achieve its objective. Acting as support tools in the initial phase of a company, the technology-based incubators take on this role, providing all necessary support and infrastructure, technical and managerial training, guidelines on credit lines, among others, which assist the development and success of these companies, called technology-based firms or incubated technological base. The technology-based firms are small firms that characterized by they are related to the process of innovation and technological development and concentrate their operations in the production of new products. These companies for a certain period of time receiving support from management and technology incubators, which assist in the reducing the mortality of these nascent companies. The aim of this study is to analyze the contribution of technology-based incubators located in the Vale do Paraíba Paulista in the development and reducing mortality of technology-based firms. The methodology used is the application of two questionnaires: one questionnaire for managers of five technology-based incubators, and the second questionnaire to managers of twenty-five technology-based firms distributed the incubators in the region of the Vale do Paraíba Paulista. It is hoped the study will check with the resources provided by technology-based incubators in the region of Vale do Paraíba Paulista are developing innovative mechanisms and management actions that possible to the technology-based firms to reach their objective
