Resumo: The growing rate of domestic violence has made Brazilian law pay special attention to violence against women within the household. Consequently, this article aimed to analyze what factors cause the damage caused or the accused such acts of violence against a woman and compare if they have something in common with each other, assuming that men who commit such violence may have similarities, either in the way of thinking, or in their creation. For a better understanding of the topic, he considered the use of bibliographic research and field research to be appropriate, with the application of a semi-open questionnaire online, prepared by the Google Form platform, with ten questions, to eleven participants of the Reflective Group for Men (HRM) . After analyzing the results, it was possible to see that most believe that the only types of domestic violence that are punished by the courts are physical (90.9%) and sexual (72.7%). In addition, 72.7% of respondents suffered some type of aggression in their childhood and / or adolescence, in addition to the 36.4% who witnessed first hand some woman in their family being assaulted. However, all members highlighted that the HRM provided clear improvements without their behavior in relation to living with women and that they would now act differently in the face of domestic conflict. Thus, it is noted how much it is necessary to promote public awareness policies so that everyone has the knowledge of the importance of education on women's rights in the whole society, because domestic violence does not only affect women who have been attacked, as was seen in the study, this also causes emotional consequences in children who studied living in this context and this ends up reflecting in the whole society.
