Resumo: This research aims to study the Evaluation System of School Performance of the State of São Paulo (SARESP) from the launch of the project makes school São Paulo, in 2007. The goal is to understand and verify the fundamentals of SARESP to identify changes and continuities from the 2007 reform. As theoretical references are consulted authors who are dedicated to the study of thematic evaluation in the field of Public Policy Education. Primary sources are the reference arrays SARESP Assessment, Pedagogical SARESP Report (2009) and documents the Curriculum Proposal Paulista 2007. At first we tried to understand the assessment in the context of education, with the goal of checking how the assessment is established in this field. The following are the basics of SARESP from the reform of the 1990s. The third part presents and discusses the fundamentals of SARESP from documents produced by the project makes São Paulo school, (Headquarters SARESP, 2009 and the Reports of SARESP Curriculum), seeking to verify possible changes in its fundamentals. The following is the analysis of the fundamentals of SARESP and it turns what were the changes and continuities that occurred. The data obtained from the study have revealed that there was a reformulation of the foundations SARESP from project launch São Paulo School and makes the change was towards closer examination requirements of the official curriculum implemented with the 2007 reform.
