Resumo: |
The research analyze the social practices of the Evangelical Community of Maringá, located in the State of Paraná, in light of Religious Praxis. This Church has been hailed for its social activities in the city in which it was founded. The Church was founded in 1989, by Irene Ribarolli Pereira da Silva, a former member of the Methodist Church of Maringá. After leaving the Methodist Church, she was ordained as a pastor and given the function of the president of a new Church. She adopted Neopentecostelism in the formation of the new church, with special emphasis on spiritual warfare. The request for offerings and monthly contributions are moderate, and contrary to the interview of demons, due to the exposition of the faithful, primarily of the middle class. In contrast to Neopentecostal Churches that appeal to the masses, but offer little in terms of individual contact with the faithful, this church give value and facilitate contact with their members, their pastors, and leaders. Evidence of this is the availability of the names and telephones of pastors and leaders of various Ministries, including the telephone of the president, in order to maintain contact with the faithful. Organization Reviver, was created because of the social practices realized by the church in the city, in 2003.This organization was created to expand and improve the activities of the Church, and, afterwards, was declared useful to the public, via a law established by the City Council. The analysis of its social practices will be based on the theories and discourses of the church, as well as their realization, in order to evaluate the existence of dialogue, perception of the reality characterized by Praxis, that seeks transformation and liberation, or if what is behind these activities is only disguised proselytism, or simple social assistance, which would indicate only practice, without praxis. |
