Resumo: |
This work has started from a question: can the university extension, with social emphasis, activate the educational and economic potential in vulnerable territories? To answer the proposed question, this paper considered the activities and narratives of students who participated in the University Extention Project “Gente é Para Brilhar” from “Universidade Metodista de São Paulo”. It was idealized as a complementary proposal for the activity of street people (re)socialization, led by “São Padre Pio de Pieltrecina” Community in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. The general objective of this work was to investigate the effectiveness of the articulation among university extension, education and social entrepreneurship for the implementation of a work cooperative formed and managed by vulnerable people. The specific objectives were to evaluate the impact and contribution of the University Extension Project “Gente é para brilhar”, from Universidade Metodista, in generating market work insertion opportunities, promoting vulnerable people general development inside the project led by “São Padre Pio de Pieltrecina” Community and to present a protocol that referred to the methodology for the activation of economic and social potential (MAPES), with a view to its replicability in vulnerable territories. The justification for this investigation was the lack of studies - in Stricto Sensu programs in Brazil - and debates related to university extension focused on the overcoming of poverty and economic and social exclusion. Thus, academic studies related to homeless people were mapped, considering cooperativism, solidarity economy, education and social entrepreneurship, taking as reference the period from 2013 to 2018, analyzing the possible contributions of researches, comparing the practical initiatives of the referred project with the general objective of this paper and with the objectives one, four, eight and ten (1, 4, 8 and 10) of the document “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” from 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (UN). The review of the previous studies included scientific articles, thesis and dissertations, taking into account the available researches in online scientific database as Universidade Metodista de São Paulo, Capes, Scholar Google and Sciello, between 2013 and 2018, related to education, university extension, solidary economy, cooperativism and street people. The methodological path included bibliographical, descriptive, exploratory research, using the qualitative method of case study and the participant observation technique. For data collection, there were interviews with semi-structured questions. Subsequently, the interviews were fully transcribed and analyzed in categories that consider the objectives of the investigation and the four SDGs. |
