Resumo: |
The democratization of admittance and participation of students with disabilities in higher education has grown in recent years, promoted by the movement and inclusive education policies. It is the perspective of inclusive education guaranteeing the access and permanence of these students in the construction of a university for all. From the theorical point of view, some references are cited in this study among them: Ligia Amaral, Miguel Arroyo, Maria Tereza Mantoan, Elizabete Cristina Costa Renders, BoaVentura Souza Santos. Although there is an increase in the enrollment of students with disabilities in higher education, it seems that not all of them graduate. At this perspective, some questions are present: do they all conclude the program? If they do not, why do not they finish their graduation? What are the causes of this failure? How does evasion among students with disabilities in higher education happen? From the qualitative approach, in the form of narrative research with references from Ferrarotti (2010, the goal of this analysis is to identify and understand, according to the narratives of the subjects, the phenomenon of higher education dropout of the students with disabilities in a private university in the ABC Paulista region. This research brings the emerging reflection of the transformation of the university environment to receive the students with disabilities with a view to the construction of paths for their presence at this place be effective. The results show the difficulties faced by students on a daily basis by crossing socially constructed barriers that influence their academic trajectories and could lead to higher education dropout. Among other aspects, the study reveals the scarcity of research, as well as of the data regarding the permanence and evasion of these students in higher education in Brazil. Yet, we consider that this research could open up horizons for additional researches that aggregates knowledge for the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education. |
