Resumo: This study searched on investigating and understanding the process of agingpopulation in Brazil and how the organizations are preparing themselves for the aging in the labor force, management and the transferred accumulated knowledge by their collaborators. The inquiry that guides this study is Does the knowledge transference happen between generations before people announce their retirement? For responding this inquiry, the theoretical-referential studies were Ferrigno (2006), Davenport and Prusak (2003), Takeuchi and Nonaka (2008) who present categories which lead this research that are restricted in two metalworking companies in ABC Paulista and its labor union. The methodology used in this study was qualitative with an exploratory- described research, thus its instrument occurred in a semi-structured interview. According to the accomplished research it was verified that the organizations comprehend the importance of dealing with the aging processes in a labor force in its organizational context therefore it is necessary to establish practices for the diffused knowledge brought into its principal active ( the most aging collaborator), promote an inter-generation learning relation and the transferred accumulated knowledge.
