This research has as a purpose to suggest of study for the Servant Song of Yahweh in Isaiah 42:1-4. Yahweh introduces a new leadership, with a new way of thinking and acting in order to rebuild a new world established in the right and solidarity. Is it a challenging work for me, and at the same time a joy to be able to share with my friends the of an Old Testament text. After all, the Yahweh s servant song is an inexhaustible source of wisdom. It satisfied the Jewish people at twenty-five hundred years ago and keeps on until no flowing living water in order to satisfy everybody who fights for justice. The chosen verses are the result of a real life experience by everyone exiled in Babylon s slavery. In essence it is a criticism to the false gods created by the powerful ones justify an oppressive system. The creativeness of the prophet is to recover the historical events that stigmatized the life of the exiled people and bring them up to date in a new historical context. That shows his cleverness in wisdom. Every word is thought in a bigger context that includes life and history. The prophet is a wise poet, who speaks of God as no one has ever spoken. He uses symbols, images and metaphors that point out a coming world, where will prevail the right, justice and peace. This change will happen starting from the mission that this leadership will accomplish With the oppressed and mistreated ones, The leader will be like the yeast that acts in the cooking mixture to leaven a new society based upon equality and sharing. The spirit of Yahweh will be acting upon him so se persist in the mission and may achieve his purpose. This new leadership elect by Yahweh quietly will work among the poor and the weak ones. The mission formerly will be fulfilled in behalf of the nations. Of those who live wandering in foreign lands. The, in a special way will benefit the poor who live at stake, the bruised reed and smoldering wick , and last the mission will fulfill every people on earth. This view depicts the will of God that is the deliverance to all mankind.(AU) |
