Resumo: |
This research aims to understand and analyze how formal education occurs in the unit Fundação Casa, located in São Bernardo do Campo, SP. In this space, are served adolescent offenders, who attend classes at the institution itself, as one of the socio-educational measures for their resocialization. Thus, the study seeks to present what these measures are, as well as their functionality and applicability, investigating the aspects related to the teaching and learning process, in order to answer the following questions: are there factors present in the formal schooling offered by the Fundação Casa that can contribute to the formation of adolescents and their process of social reintegration? What are the limits of this formative process at Fundação Casa for such reintegration? In this sense, the qualitative research is based, among other theorists, on the conceptions of Paulo Freire, Moacir Gadotti, Demerval Saviani, Erving Goffman and Pierre Bourdieu, besides the relevant legislation. The field research took place through interviews with three teachers, two of whom have worked at the Fundação Casa and another, who still remains at this institution. The main objective of the interviews was to know the perception of these teachers in relation to education and their possible contributions in the process of social reintegration of adolescents. We also sought to know if teachers are aware of the reality of the interns and how the teacher-student relationship occurs in the educational process. The research results point to several weaknesses in the institution, among them, the lack of integration with other measures necessary for the social reintegration of adolescents, inadequate physical structure, insufficient teaching materials, not offering specific training to the teachers who work there and, in addition, there is a lack of state support for young people in a situation of Assisted Freedom to prevent their return to the Fundação. However, even with these aspects that demand more attention and resources, it is necessary to emphasize the bond of affection built between teachers and students, which can be an important factor for their learning and appreciation of their identities as citizens of law. |
