Resumo: |
We live with the natural and social differences, even if it is not seized, not apparent. In this context arises the stigma of the physically challenged, part of a group that escapes the normal standards of society and nature. And this difference in the scholar journey becomes more evident creating a social imbalance, which the teaching practices try to minimize through the proposal of inclusion. The suggested researches about inclusive education point out the experiences of regular teachers and students with and without physical disabilities who attend the same scholar environment. Facing this reality from another angle, how those relationships present themselves when the teacher is physically challenged? There are few studies documenting these experiences. This research aims to fill this gap, based on the trajectory of a physically challenged teacher's training, who works in higher education, together with interviews of two other teachers in higher education, also physically challenged, through the following categories: trajectory in basic education, access and retention in higher education, access to employment market, access and action as a teacher for education and inclusion. The objective is, therefore, to establish a reflection about the professional inclusion, facing the difficulties encountered daily in school. In the attempt to explain the characteristics and attributes of individuals with disabilities in contact with normal people, it was used statistical support as theoretical basis, specifically from the normal curve combined with the historical and legislative trajectory regarding the subject. Therefore, the study aims to contribute to the development of an inclusive culture, promoting the normality of the differences.(AU) |
