The objective of this dissertation is to discuss the alienation of contemporary man and also evaluate different scientific ways in its research. For this study, different historical moments that strengthened the alienation of workers were described and three thechniques of research were evaluated in order to understand which one would be more appropriate for the analysis of this issue; the techniques are: oral history, survey and the comments from the participants. The field research, allows toinfer for the data analysis, that the thematic oral history made possible the respondents auto-reflection, pointing a way to the des-alienation and meet personal authenticity.(AU)
