Resumo: |
This work, which is developed in the area of Religious Praxis and Society, analyses the interaction between Brazilian Prot stantism and the Postmodernity and offers a view on certain changes and/or transformations that such interaction provokes in this religious context of Protestantism, bringing it closer or moving it away from some characteristics of its own Protestant origins. For that, this work is circumscribed to Methodism, more specifically to a local Methodist Church in the ABC area of São Paulo, and by means of a qualitative research, it seeks to evaluate how some postmodern marks circulate in the sermons delivered in the community chosen, namely the Methodist church in Santo André SP. The analytical method used here is the Bakhtnian Analysis of Speech, which evaluates the verbal speech related to an extra verbal social situation in which it is created. However, in this critical reflection, contributions from other fields of knowledge are also utilized such as Theological Homiletics and Sociology of Protestantism, which enable us to a greater comprehension of the issues involved.(AU) |
