Resumo: Paulo Jackson Vilasboas was born in 'Caetité', in the countryside of Bahia state in Brazil on June 8th, 1952 and died on may 19th 2000 in the municipality of 'Morro do Chapéu', also in the countryside. Graduated in Engeneering at Politechnical School at the Federal University of Bahia – UFBA. In 1980's he was considered to be one of the main union people from Bahia, being the president of the Water and Sewer Workers Union – SINDAE. However, it was in 1990's, when political forces linked to the present senator Antônio Carlos Magalhães dominated the politics in the state mentioned above that Paulo Jackson was considered one the main opposers to the dominant group. From 1993 to 2000 he was state deputy in the Legislative Assembly in Bahia, becoming known not only the by his opposition to a movement called 'Carlismo' but also by his peculiar life by its political coherence and defense of important issues like water and sanitaton for the whole population.
