Resumo: |
The social enterprise (SE) plays an increasingly significant role in the Brazilian market. These organizations, whether for profit or not, share the goal of having a positive social impact. The concept of social enterprises emerged in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s and in Europe in the 1990s. The use of technologies refers to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and they play a fundamental role in ESs, as they can reduce costs and transform the way we interact with other people and organizations. The objective of this research is to verify what is the contribution of ICTs to the creation of value in social enterprises. The methodology of this research project was the study of multiple cases with a longitudinal perspective and intra and inter-case analyzes. In the inter-case analyzes, there were interesting discoveries such as: 1) The most important categories were communication, collaboration and digital platform; 2) Communication and collaboration are converging for the same purposes, called Communication and unified collaboration. Responding to the research question of this thesis: “what is the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to the creation of value in social enterprises?”, We conclude that the main contribution of ICTs is the digital platform that creates value in social enterprises through communication and collaboration. |
