In contemporary times, it is possible to notice certain devaluation and preconceptions existing there are women who consume vibrators. It is noticeable that social, political and religious influences for centuries stimulate the spread of myths and cultural taboos, being possible reasons for the lack of stimulus in the consumption of this sector. With the growth of women in search of sexual health care and pleasure, this subject has become present with greater frequency in social networks, television programs and other forms of mass communication. It has also grown the demand of women for specialists in female sexual health and pleasure, leading the sector to an expressive growth comparing the consumption of these products years ago. The present research investigates what are the benefits of the use of vibrators for sexual, physical and psychological health reported by a group of women and experts, what are valued aspects that positively impact the consumption decision. To understand the point of view of this group were conducted individual and semi-structured interviews with 9 people, being 03 health professionals, and 06 consumers of vibrators. The theoretical foundation of the research discusses consumer behavior, vibrators, women's pleasure, female sexual health, myths and taboos. The methodology of exploratory research with qualitative method was adopted, the individual interviews with depth contributed with refinement and direction of the research. "Vibrators are another way to learn more about yourself." (LOPICCOLO, 1992, p. 121). |
