Resumo: This work analyzes how Som Livre adapts to the recent transformations in business models adopted in the Brazilian market and its agents in the recording industry with time cut from 2000 to 2018. We start from an analysis of the changes in the organization of the music industry, discussing how Digital technologies have affected the different players in the industry and how new ones have emerged. Following, we conducted a case study of Som Livre, a Brazilian record label that completely changed the direction of new technologies and emerged as the largest company in the national music segment. In analyzing the lower barriers to entry for new players in the music industry, it recognizes that adaptive capacity has become a strong element of performance, the way to analyze this process in Som Livre, which does not make the physical to market progress. Digital has assumed a leading position in the domestic market. A research is a qualitative approach and as methodological procedures of case study highlighted for bibliographic review, secondary data survey of the music and sound industry and semi-structured interviews with company leaders. We believe that the work has the potential to contribute to the recognition of the competitive environment of the music industry in Brazil and can be applied to other academic or market works that have as premise the performance of the music in
