The present research has an objective to analyses the figuretivizations by faith in Discurso sobre a corda, by Benedicto Monteiro. For that, it will be focused in the construction the meaning effects to lexeme “corda”, principal element by “Círio de Nazaré”, religious march that occurred since 1793, in the second Sunday to October in Belém-Pará. The methodology of greimesiane semiotics directed the comprehension this important element for paraenses culture, specially, for the people gone to pay your promises in the “Círio de Nazaré”. These peoples consider the cord rope for the value-object and sacred-symbol by faith in “Nossa Senhora de Nazaré”, patron saint to amazon’s people.
