Resumo: | On one side the interests of the market, represented by the glamor inherent in the world of fashion. On the other, the reality of work in the manufacturing industry that, paradoxically, contributes directly to the success of the fashion world. The intention is to highlight the precarious work conditions of tailors, revealing the antagonism between the reality they experienced and the glamour in the media of the fashion world. With globalization, open borders and eliminated the distances, companies need to ensure competitiveness in the consumer market. In the dynamics of liberalism, the market economy is priorized and the State shows to be oblivious to social problems, however, the limit of the exploitation of the labor force is the dignity of the worker, whether individually or collectively considered. The collapse of the Rana Plaza building, on the outskirts of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, where small clothing factories operated, revealed to the world the working conditions analogous to the slavery of those workers. At the stage of making of the textile industry, one of the greatest difficulties to map the irregularities in the labor area is in the spray of the productive chain. With the successive subcontratation, control of the supervision is lost. The social responsibility of the major brands covers the due diligence about the source of the product that will take your name. The condemnation in the face of the practice of social dumping; the theory of deliberate blindness; the international treaties and agreements signed within the framework of the International Labour Organization, of application erga omnes, and the consumer surveillance, are solutions presented to ensure decent work to the sewing industry's dressmakers. |
