Resumo: | The present research aimed the understanding of the factors that promoted the restructuration of the Brazilian telecommunication sector after privatization process occurred between 1997 and 1999 through the process, organizational strategies and innovation. This research was carried through the descriptive, qualitative method focusing on the social investigation of the case study from historical data analysis, documents, pertinent academic studies, besides the application of dissertation questionnaire to professionals of the sector and interviews with executives. The comprehension of the facts brought clarity regarding the phenomenon that lead to the greatest technological evolution amongst public services and a behavior revolution of users throughout the years. In opposition to power, water and gas services, which constantly aim to enlarge their distribution net to reach as many users as possible, but always offering the same services and rationing their resources, the telecommunication sector aims not only to expand the distribution, as it was until the late 90s, but also to offer more products with better quality, lower price and more volume of users, even though that means to reach their limits of supply capacity. For this reason, they allowed the majority of the population to have their own communication means, from a residential number to a mobile phone, thus making shared services, such as lan houses and public phones, almost obsolete. |
