The Urban Slave Work in Paraíba under the Influence of the Market is a study that approaches one of the most important rights of the human beings, the freedom, and also explain how the slave labor damages the market. Ever since the most ancient civilizations, people subjugate each other, treating them as if they were mere objects that can be explored until exhaustion. The present dissertation has as its objective alert the society and the law enforcers to the constant presence of the slave labor nowadays. Besides that, it intends to show how the slave labor appeared, its historical evolution until it arrived to Brazil, and how it persists today in this country as well as its modus operandi, in order to break the myth that slave labor only happens in solitary places or in the countryside. This was be done by the analysis of the capitalist labor, since its liberal roots, passing through the Welfare State, until its return to the liberalism and using the study of cases to the confirmation of the problem, cases obtained from the Procuradoria Regional do Trabalho da 13ª Região, being found fourty-four cases in the urban areas of Paraíba.
