Percepções dos adolescentes sobre hábitos posturais: subsídios para programas de promoção de saúde no contexto escolar

Resumo: | In the current days, the search for the relief of the pains in the backs for pre-adolescents and adolescents has been revealing a demand more and more frequent in the professionals' of the health clinics. These have been alerting for the fact that these postural alterations can be associated to the incorrect postural habits, to the long period of time that the students stay seated, to the inadequacy of the school furniture and the excessive weight of the transported school material, as well as the form of transport of the same ones. The absence of an appropriate orientation that wakes up in these groups the conscience of the corporal self care, it can transform them in a generation of adults with pains and problems of structural alterations in the spine, which will commit their life quality. Considering that the school is constituted in a favorable space for the development of actions that seek to the students' understanding, about the relationship between postural habits inadequate and possible damages to the spine, this study searched for identifying important dimensions for the prevention of postural alterations among adolescents, in the school context. 92 students with ages between 11 and 15 years, both sexes, studying of 5th to 8th series in a public school of the municipal district of Passos – MG, Brazil, participated of the study. For the collection of data it was used a questionnaire of voluntary character, anonym and self administered. For the quantitative analysis of the data the descriptive statistics was adopted and, for the qualitative analysis, the thematic content analysis. The analysis of the data showed, for the students' perceptions on the postural habits, that when in the seated posture, most of the students knows which the correct posture to sit down, however, they adopt inadequate postures. Besides, it was clear the inadequacy of the school furniture to the student's anthropometric needs, and this is the cause of complaints on the part of the students. It was also verified by the students' reports, that the transport of the school material it was not always done in the correct way. So, it was possible to identify the adolescents' perceptions on postural habits and to supply subsidies for the elaboration of proposals and interventions that are done necessary for programs of promotion of health in the school atmosphere, such as: postural education, corporal understanding, changes in the teaching strategies, adaptation of the school furniture and adaptation of the school atmosphere. |
