Resumo: | This dissertation possessed as theme the search of a productive teaching in Grammar in current days. It was established a comparative analysis between the traditional teaching of the normative grammar and the actual one in our schools and it proved that, although the teaching has evolved, there is still the necessity of a more productive teaching. The placing of grammar on its proper place as text auxiliary, the teacher´s consciousness above search in the innovation of his/her work in grammar teaching were the objective of the research. After a comparative study between the different types of grammar, interviews were done with teachers and students from public and private schools so that more concrete data about teacher´s work were shown. These data were compared with other ones of previous researches and it was understood that a little has changed. This research looked for presenting some rudiments in the practical of a more productive teaching to the students, taking the text produced for them as a departure point.
