Resumo: | This study had as general goal to establish relationships between internal and external drivers with integrative capability in furniture companies in southern Brazil and the performance of eco-innovation, including the adoption of proactive and reactive strategies. Thus, this study focused its interest in changing behavior in industrial organizations, from the development of innovation in order to address the environmental sustainability as a guideline. Based on this argument, stands out the need to examine factors that represent internal and external drivers, as well as elements that act in their integration into endogenous and exogenous environment of organizations, for the purpose of determining their relevance in the adoption of strategies aligned with environmental demands and performance of eco-innovation. These vectors can enable an evolutive diagnostic timely of economic relations, technological and behavioral of the organizations whose detailed assessment to a traditional sector such as furniture, in a developing country, evokes new contributions to the theory of innovation, particularly with regard to eco-innovation. The methodology was based on the quantitative approach based on a cross- sectional survey. As data collection instrument was used computerized questionnaire in the self-administered format, obtaining responses from 124 companies. For data analysis was used parametric correlation tests, as well as multivariate multiple regression analysis in ten hypotheses formulated from the literature on eco-innovation. Among the main results, the study highlights the taxonomic definition obtained from the sample of companies, classified by multivariate technique cluster analysis, whose group was defined from its eco- innovation strategies, and segmented as offensive, defensive and mixed organizations. The study confirmed that eco-innovation is raised through a combination of internal and external drivers, whose effects on the performance of eco-innovation are mediated by the integrative capability of organizations and is also correlated with the adoption of eco-innovation strategies. It was able to notice in the study that these relationships the interposition of intervening variables (size, age, industrial category and market segment) and its influence on the strength of association between drivers, strategies and performance of eco-innovation. Thus, this study contributes to a broader understanding of the factors that trigger and enhance eco-innovation in organizations. |
