Resumo: This paper is aimed at presenting an analysis of myth formation occurrence, and in which way it is built by the means of mass communication in our society. It was, otherwise, the guiding theme which motivated us to accomplish this work. Among the means of mass communication, specially the ones turned to adolescents, Revista Capricho, a Brazilian magazine which is related to “myth” formation, and the soccer player Kaká (Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite) was chosen to be the object of investigation for the player is widely published by the magazine (Revista Capricho), as a possible image so as to establish a relation to the Greek myth Apolo. The importance of information which are transmitted by the magazine, in the abstract clipping, is emphasized, analyzing the possibility of a connection to the myths of the classic age, specially Apolo. The essay presents theories about myth, the role of the means of mass communication in the construction of myths, specially the Revista Capricho, the possible role of soccer in the mythical context is also spotted. The theories shown hold the analyses of the six subjects released by Revista Capricho, in which we want to examine the way the myth from the old times would be rewritten today.
