Resumo: |
The knowledge accumulated in the course of this doctoral thesis by reading Brazilian writers from the 18th century that expressed themselves about divorce, is followed in this study by unfolding the theme in the works of authors from the second half of the 19th century and beginning of 20th century. In the postdoctoral study, dialogue between artists is established through their writings, which involve the restricted law to marital separation elaborated in 1890 and added to Brazilian Constitution of 1891. In the set of provisions and legal regulations, a single marriage between couples was determined and allowed authors to address the divorce issue in their writings. The methodology provides the intersection of the fictional context with the historical reality, assuming the knowledge of socially constructed gender, which will be explained in literatures from the 18th century, as well as in literary projections of the contemporary period as they appear on the final course report. |
