Resumo: |
This dissertation discusses about the processes of cultural identity representation in local television production. The study is based on the analyzes of reports that refer to the date of political administrative emancipation of Tubarão (SC), collected from the TV journalism “Câmera Aberta 2ª Edição”. Such TV station was granted to Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina. It is the first and still the unique TV station based in Tubarão. The aim of this study is to search process of representation Tubarão’s cultural identity in reports of TV journalism “Câmera Aberta 2ª Edição”, aired by Unisul TV. The research is developed from the concepts such as cultural identity, dialogism and information of proximity. In the scope of the reflections, historical aspects that contextualize the role of television and the news in Brazil and its relation to the national culture are also considered. The regional and local history is highlighted by bringing to the scene constitutive elements from the formation of people from Tubarão. In this post-modern period, characterized by mobile identities, the research becomes important to demonstrate that cultural identities from local/regional characteristics keep alive and also become stronger, even in the face of the tendency to globalization. Such strengthening to particularism is mostly due to the media narratives, through the information of proximity. In the analyzed reports, it is observed that Tubarão is represented as a town in development and, so, opened to the new; as well as a big city, regional trade hub, but that preserves characteristics of a provincial community, where principles of religion still determine social practices. |
