Summary: | This work aims to analyze the financial statements of Azul Linhas Aéreas in the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, in order to identify the impacts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Also carry out the same procedures with a company in the same sector, Gol Linhas Aéreas, for performance comparison purposes. In the theoretical framework, accounting and the techniques used for analysis are addressed: horizontal analysis, vertical analysis, liquidity indicators, debt indicators, profitability indicators, net need for working capital and treasury. For the development of this work, a descriptive research was elaborated, of quantitative and qualitative nature, since it corresponds to the analysis that was carried out from real data, originating from the financial statements of the companies analyzed within the period used. After data collection, the financial statements were analyzed using horizontal and vertical analysis and indicators of liquidity, indebtedness, profitability, working capital and treasury. When interpreting the financial statements and carrying out the analyses, it is visible that the pandemic had a significant impact on the economic and financial situation of Azul Linhas Aéreas, as there is a high degree of indebtedness, little liquidity capacity and lack of profitability due to accumulated losses. Comparing with the indices of Gol Linhas Aéreas, it is clear that Azul still had minor impacts on its economic and financial situation. |
