Тойм: | Aim: to assess the teacher's vocal quality and to verify the effects of the exercise of phonation with Finnish tube before and after therapy. Methodology: the sample was consisted of 10 university professors from University of Passo Fundo, being 7 of the female gender and 3 of the male gender, with ages ranging from 27 to 68 years. The data collection was performed at the Speech Therapy Clinic from UPF. The professors performed the Videolaryngoscopy exam, and their voices were recorded in the VoxMetria program. The technique was performed at home, during six days, once a day, lasting one minute. They filled out a questionnaire about vocal quality and self-assessment, post therapy, returning to the clinic for the same procedures already mentioned, post therapy. Results: In the Videolaryngoscopy examination, pre-therapy, it was observed that 03 (30%) subjects had reduced vocal fold vibration, in the post they improved this standard. It was verified improvement in the acoustic aspects of the voice, as well as maximum phonation time (MFT), 11,37s to 13,25s, intensity 34,8dB to 36,76dB, frequency 159,97Hz to 163,71Hz, post therapy. In the self-assessment of subjects, the most part noticed that their voice was more fluid. Conclusion: The technique with Finnish tube is shown to be effective, improving the vocal quality and increasing acoustic aspects of the professors' voices. |
