Summary: | The Supervised Professional Technical Internship (ETPS) allows graduates to put into practice the content acquired during their degree in Veterinary Medicine, in the area intended for professional practice. The ETP was carried out in the area of physiotherapy and equine rehabilitation, under the academic guidance of Prof. Dr. Laura Beatriz Rodrigues. The ETPS was carried out at the company Integrative Equus Medicina Equina, from August 25th to November 14th, 2023, totaling 450 hours. Through the ETP, it was possible to experience the clinical routine of an equine rehabilitation and physiotherapy center, assisting veterinarians in clinical care, patient restraint and management, orthopedic care, carrying out complementary exams such as x-rays and ultrasound, shock wave and chiropractic treatments. Therefore, this report is structured in the following order: description of the internship location, general activities developed and the activities monitored/developed during the internship period, which are detailed in table format for better understanding. Finally, a case of treatment of a lacerating wound will be reported. Thus, it can be concluded that the ETPS is of fundamental importance in a student's academic training, both personally and professionally, as it allows them to experience the routine of a veterinarian, interact in groups, follow new technologies and practices, thus enriching knowledge to act as a future professional in the area. |
