Summary: | This study aimed to evaluate the self-perception of oral health conditions and satisfaction index in a series of patients rehabilitated with removable bimaxillary dental prostheses installed at the Faculty of Dentistry of the UPF between the years 2014 and 2019. The research was carried out through the evaluation of 8,829 medical records of patients assisted at the institution, who underwent oral rehabilitation with removable dental prostheses (total and/or partial removable prosthesis-PT/PPR) concomitantly. The patients individually answered the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) questionnaire, which aims to assess the impact of the oral condition on people's quality of life, and the visual analogue scale (VAS) to assess the degree of satisfaction with rehabilitation. on the following criteria: masticatory function, comfort, stability/retention and aesthetics. After statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney test (SPSS -Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 24.0, SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA), it was possible to conclude that the age of the patients and the time of installation of the prostheses directly interfere on the satisfaction of individuals with rehabilitation. In addition, the use of medications, especially the antidepressant class, negatively interferes with the rehabilitation treatment. |

In addition, the use of medications, especially the antidepressant class, negatively interferes with the rehabilitation treatment.Este estudo se propôs a avaliar a autopercepção das condições de saúde bucal e índice de satisfação em uma série de pacientes reabilitados com próteses dentárias removíveis bimaxilares instaladas na Faculdade de Odontologia da UPF entre os anos de 2014 e 2019. A pesquisa foi realizada através da avaliação de 8.829 prontuários de pacientes atendidos na instituição, que realizaram reabilitação oral com próteses dentárias do tipo removível (prótese total e/ou parcial removível-PT/PPR) concomitantemente. Os pacientes responderam individualmente ao questionário Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14), que tem por finalidade avaliar o impacto da condição oral na qualidade de vida das pessoas e à escala visual analógica (EVA), para avaliar o grau de satisfação com a reabilitação nos seguintes critérios: função mastigatória, conforto, estabilidade/retenção e estética. Após análise estatística pelo teste de Mann-Whitney (SPSS -Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, versão 24.0, SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA), foi possível concluir que a idade dos pacientes e o tempo de instalação das próteses interferem diretamente na satisfação dos indivíduos com a reabilitação.
