Sumari: This work aims to investigate and compare the difference between SDN (Software Defined Network) and IP (Internet Protocol) network architectures. It seeks alternative networks and architectures to current ones, which could be used not only by the scientific community but also by the general population. Tests and comparisons were carried out between the two networks, as well as a more detailed view of the operation of an SDN network and the OpenFlow communication protocol. It was concluded that SDN networks, due to their performance and scalability, have better performance than current IP networks.
