This paper aims to analyze the representations of popular therapists, popularly known with benzedeiras, in view of their practices dedicated to the treatment and cure of diseases, as it happens in the municipality of Alcântaras - Ceará, commenting on the practice and doing of these. women. Based on the premise that female blessing women, as important characters of popular culture, have knowledge passed down from generation to generation and perpetuated to the present day, our analysis also aims to highlight some aspects related to the apprehension and transmission of this knowledge. Through structured interviews, where it was found that the benzedeiras, while constituting a collective identity, tend to present quite individualized forms in their doing. Finally, this research aims to collaborate with the history of the locality of Alcântaras and, consequently, with the history of Ceará in general, since to study the history of the blessing is to immerse ourselves in our most genuine cultural roots. In addition, it is now necessary to know the little of this study. |
