Sažetak: The Panorama of Brazilian Audiovisual Film Festivals is a yearbook of Brazilian audiovisual film festivals that open calls for submissions. The objective is to outline a profile of these events and its characteristics, creating a historical record to monitor the realization of Brazilian film festivals over the years and a basis for further research and the construction of public policies. The new coronavirus pandemic persists. The continuation of necessary social distancing measures and the suspension of in-person events for a large part of the year were also maintained for part of the year, with the relief of vaccination progress. In this scenario, professionals in culture, cinema, and the sector as a whole remained impacted in their return to activities. The promulgation of the Aldir Blanc Law (Federal Law No. 14.017/2020) injected R$ 3 billion into states and municipalities for emergency actions in the universe of culture. Among public notices, public calls, awards, cultural manifestations, among others (LEI N° 14.017, 2020), the sector had a substantial respite after much pressure for some kind of aid, which was also used in 2021. The festivals were directly impacted by the Law, finding the necessary impetus to happen. For this reason, the events covered by the Law's resources were also analyzed separately in the yearbook, recording the direct effects of the regulation. In parallel, the Federal Senate approved the complementary bill PLP 73/2021, the Paulo Gustavo Law, which releases R$ 3.8 billion to mitigate the negative economic and social effects of the pandemic, providing for the financing of festivals and showcases. With an 86% drop in revenue, Brazilian cinemas saw the streaming market grow by almost 30% in the same period, according to the Global Entertainment and Media Research 2021–2025 (MORISAWA, 2021; PESQUISA GLOBAL, 2021). Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country had about 3500 cinema screens, and by the end of 2021, it was already hovering around 3200 screens (BREDA, 2021). Ana Paula Sousa's text also points to a winding search for Brazilian films outside the cinema space, with predispositions for this dialogue via television (39%), on-demand platforms (30%), downloads (17%) and only then, the dark room (12%) (SOUZA, 2021). Even with a beginning of the return of in-person exhibitions, apparently the range of audiovisual consumption options will reside in the physical world and the virtual world simultaneously, making companies and consumers adapt to this business format and contact with the works. This duality of spaces is perhaps the synthesis of Brazilian audiovisual festivals/showcases in 2021. In-person events returning, secured by the vaccines in the arms of Brazilians; online exhibitions remaining as a possible environment for exhibition during the pandemic. Could this be the beginning of a universe where festivals and showcases would have demand for both in-person and online exhibitions? Would hybrid events remain? - 387 festivals and showcases held; the year with the largest series of registered events since 2016;
