要約: | This article aims to investigate the occurrence of the comma in the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament and discuss the value of this graphic symbol for interpreting Ephesians 4, 12. For this purpose, we resorted to bibliographical research and carried out an analysis of the Greek text of Papyrus 46. We sought to highlight the function of the comma while addressing the following problem question: how could the first Christians understand the text of the Greek New Testament without punctuation marks? In answering this question, we emphasized that the context can reveal the semantics and meaning of a text written without punctuation marks. The context of a passage can be more enlightening than punctuation marks. Furthermore, we must not forget that for the first readers of the Greek New Testament, the written text was merely a support for what was in living memory. |

Para tanto, recorremos à pesquisa bibliográfica e realizamos uma análise do texto grego do Papiro 46. Procuramos destacar a função da vírgula e, ao mesmo tempo, abordar a seguinte questão-problema: como os primeiros cristãos poderiam entender o texto do Novo Testamento grego sem sinais de pontuação? Ao responder a essa pergunta, enfatizamos que o contexto pode revelar a semântica e o significado de um texto escrito sem sinais de pontuação. O contexto de uma passagem pode ser mais esclarecedor do que os sinais de pontuação.
