Given with the requirement of the Fixed Telephony Market to introduce new services for customers, this study suggests the implementation of a multimedia system based on IP Technology (IMS) as a solution to attend the market with new services, make room for innovation and competitiveness. The proposed network is a converged networking technology that was originally developed for the mobile phone platform, aims at renewing the legacy wireline services, increase in the capacity of customer service, fixed-mobile convergence. To achieve the proposed goals, it was raised from the historical legacy telephone networks, NGN and presented the main points of an IMS network. In the end was presented the advantages of adopt an IMS network and the trend of the telecommunications market, pointing to the changes that are necessary to attend the customer.
