Resumo: This paper focuses on the implementation of strategies for environmental education through workshops on recycling, developed with students of 2nd year of Elementary Education of the City School Professor Elenice Milhorança Foz do Iguaçu - PR. Educational activities involving waste recycling knowledge provide the means to recycle or reuse the waste generated by humans on the environment. The implementation of environmental education to promote these programs in partnership with the recycling program helps to encourage reuse practices and reduction in waste generation, which reaches from encouraging responsible consumption. Thus, the development of awareness projects from the lectures, discussions and workshops on recycling, contribute to form critical citizens regarding the correct disposal of waste. The completion of the recycling project has clarified the students about the many possibilities for the selective collection in the environment contextualizing knowledge of environmental education.

The completion of the recycling project has clarified the students about the many possibilities for the selective collection in the environment contextualizing knowledge of environmental education.Este trabalho teve como foco a aplicação de estratégias de educação ambiental por meio da realização de oficinas sobre a reciclagem, desenvolvidas com alunos de 2º Ano do Ensino Fundamental da Escola Municipal Professora Elenice Milhorança de Foz do Iguaçu - PR. Ações educativas envolvendo reciclagem de resíduos propiciam conhecimento dos meios para reaproveitar ou reutilizar os resíduos gerados pelo homem no ambiente. A aplicação da educação ambiental no sentido de promover a coleta seletiva em parceria com o programas de reciclagem contribui para incentivar práticas de reutilização e redução na geração de resíduos, o que se alcança a partir do incentivo ao consumo consciente. Assim, o desenvolvimento de projetos de conscientização a partir da realização de palestras, debates e oficinas de reciclagem de resíduos, contribuem para formar cidadãos críticos em relação ao destino correto dos resíduos.
