This academic work has as central theme the Reflexive Esthetic Production within the teaching of Art in Brazil. It presents a brief history of the studies on the Triangular Approach proposed by Ana Mae Barbosa and the creation of a national educational document called National Curricular Parameters. This study exposes a social conception for the teaching of Art instead of the utilitarian one, that has been taking place in Brazilian classes só far. Sequences of activities are suggested for Art teachers with the purpose of promoting a dialogical reflection about Art and life history, Art and locality, Art and materiality and Art as a symbolic object. This study was developed based on the Triangular Approach parameters with the purpose of presenting suggestions of activities for Art teachers which lead to reading the world, to critical analysis, to a reflexive creation and to a conception of Art as a language with codes and signs of its own. This academic work presents a sequence of activities that takes for the analyses some artworks from local artists (São José dos Campos) to develop an educational teaching practice and an esthetic experience. The activities show a way of teaching Art that aims to develop cognitive, moral, intellectual and emotional values. This study presents Art as an essential need for life, for the evolution of spirit, for social integration and for the development of critical thinking, not as an economic interest.
