Summary: This work proposes the construction of a pin on disc tribometer designed for tests with lubricants. The work is inside the tribology area, modern science which basically deals with the behavior of the friction and wear in many materials that are in mechanical contact and keeps relative movement between themselves in different conditions of pressure, sliding velocity, temperature, lubrication, vibration, atmosphere, among others. The work tries to classify some of the many existing tribometers according to their application, and also expose a schedule for the tribological test. Finally presents some of the equipments that will be used in the proposed tribometer.

O trabalho está dentro da área de tribologia, ciência moderna que basicamente trata do comportamento do atrito e do desgaste nos diversos materiais que estão em contato mecânico e apresentam movimento relativo entre si nas diversas condições de pressão, velocidade de escorregamento, temperatura, lubrificação, vibração, atmosfera, dentre outros. Busca classificar alguns dos diversos modelos de tribômetros existentes de acordo com sua aplicação, e também expõe um planejamento para o teste tribológico.
