The landscaping on the highway, besides providing greater comfort for those who travel in that environment, beautifies the place and should be considered a safety factor, since with suitable forest species along roadside, with good maintenance and correct spacing, it will offer greater security to Who circulates around the place. The objective of this work is the characterization of the forest species that compose the roads surrounding the city of Dois Vizinhos in straight sections, curves, bridge and abyss with the already existing vegetation in the place, raising the characteristics of each tree analyzed as density of Wood, modulus of elasticity, shape of trunk, flower, fruit through literature, and on the road measured the CAP, the height of the tree by estimate and the distance of the tree to the roadside and height. From the results were proposed the characteristics and the ideal species for each stretch of the road as well as which one behaves better in the environment, giving prominence to the natives. The recommendation for all stretches in general is the removal of exotic ones that compromise road safety as well as threatening biodiversity. Regarding wood density and modulus of elasticity, it is advisable to research and test for these values, which lacked the results and made it difficult to discuss the same.
