In the search for solutions and advances in several areas, research and innovation play a fundamental role. In this sense, the maintenance of underused equipment becomes a relevant activity, allowing for cost reduction, resource optimization, and, primarily, the continuous improvement of equipment used in research. This study focused on the renovation of a refrigerated thermostatic bath, with the aim of improving its functionality and appearance. The research used a descriptive approach with an experimental design, combining quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the results. The renovation process included the careful selection of materials and the development of technical drawings, with the aim of obtaining a careful renovation of the equipment according to its functions. When refurbishing the equipment, we sought to obtain equipment more suitable for researchers’ needs, facilitating their experimental activities and aiming to achieve more accurate results. The results indicated an improvement in the portability of the equipment, providing greater versatility for use in various situations. In addition to its refrigeration capacity, the incorporation of the heating function expanded its applications. Therefore, this study contributed to the academic environment by presenting a practical and sustainable approach to improving underutilized equipment.
