Summary: The following task talks about the evolution of the tool machines that are responsible for the creation of pieces and even of other machines. Looking for the machine moves, that in the past was able to move only one axis for attempt, for more modern controls that are capable of moving the three axes simultaneously. The most primitive tool machines were controlled by human hands and normally needed more than one operator, the current systems radically evolved to a system that only one operator acts in the general control of the machine. This way to machine avoiding the over manpower demanded the inclusion of computers in the industrial environment. With the need of create each time more equal pieces and with less waste of time and production, the numerical control had their feature in the industrial department. Consequently, the use of computerized controls, previously considered lux articles, currently is indispensable. Thereby it was aimed to construct a prototype of a CNC milling (computer numeric control). The development of the machine required the integration of several computer programs in order to obtain a prototype full automatized. For such, the communication between the Arduino and the computer was done using the software Universal Gcode Sender, which in addition to GRBL allowed the programming of the microcontroller. The 3D modeling was done with the software Sketchup Make. All the software used are open source and had a fine interaction between them and Arduino. To prove the general operation of the structure were machined pieces in two different materials, being them acrylic and MDF those allowed prove that CNC projects based on microcontrollers work correctly.
