The main objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the sandstone aggregate on the compressive strength and the modulus of elasticity of the concrete. Two samples of 12 specimens were produced, varying the diameter of the aggregate. It was necessary to perform the chemical characterization of the sandstone, determining that it was potentially reactive to the alkali/aggregate reaction. For this reason, the CP IV - 32 RS cement, which has the capacity to combat the reactivity of the aggregate, was used to make the concrete. The analyzed concretes were dosed from the methodology of the Brazilian Association of Portland Cement for a characteristic compressive strength at 28 days of 35 MPa. The values obtained for compressive strength were compared with the dosage value and with each other. The measured values of the modulus of elasticity were compared with the equations provided by NBR 6118/2003, NBR 6118/2014, ACI 318/2011 and EUROCODE 2/2004.
