Summary: Lean Manufacturing methodology is applied in industries aiming to improve profitability, market share and customer satisfaction, reducing the problems and consequently increasing quality through statistical tools. This strategy aims to deliver faster and higher quality results to customers, with less waste and as a consequence, operational excellence. The present work, characterized as a case study, has the objective of implementing the Lean Manufacturing methodology applied to the automotive industry, mapping and improving the Upper Level Part Number process applied to the final product axis, thus optimizing the process currently used. As a method, Lean Manufacturing tools were used: laminating and verification sheet, Ishikawa diagram, the five parts, gemba, 5W2H and kaizen. The process was defined, analyzed and measured, thus proposing improvements and applying one of them. However, only one of them was viable economically.

However, only one of them was viable economically.A metodologia Lean Manufacturing é aplicada nas indústrias com objetivo de melhorar a lucratividade, a participação no mercado e a satisfação do cliente, reduzindo os problemas e consequentemente aumentando a qualidade por meio de ferramentas estatísticas. Esta estratégia visa entregar resultados mais rápido e com maior qualidade aos clientes, com menos desperdício e como consequência, a excelência operacional. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo a implementação da metodologia de Lean Manufacturing aplicada à indústria automotiva, mapeando e melhorando o processo de Upper Level Part Number aplicado ao eixo do produto final, otimizando assim o processo usado atualmente. Como método, utilizou-se ferramentas do Lean Manufacturing: folha de estratificação e de verificação, diagrama de Ishikawa, os cinco por quês, gemba, 5W2H e kaizen. O processo foi definido, analisado e mensurado, possibilitando propor ações de melhorias.
